As a recent college graduate who is in the job market I have spent a lot of time on Craig's List. While this website is mostly known as a job search site, I have come to notice it's many other uses. For my first post I would like to start off talking about the personals section, specifically missed connections. My first question is does anyone actually ever read these? Like for serious? I know that I read them cause I think they are funny. I have several friend who do the same including my roommate. But really? Does anything actually come of these entries? Does anyone actually go home and look to see if the person standing in line behind them at starbucks, posted an ad on craig's list? Do people actually meet this way? Am I crazy for thinking this is crazy? My other big complaint is that some of these ad's are definitely not missed connections.
For example this posting titled: We Made out in First Class - m4m - 48 (Flight to Philly)
"Several years ago we were seated in First, totaly strangers flying in late at night, we made a great connection on the flight, made out alot then later at your place, would love to meet again, it was so very hot, will be back in Philly Sunday and Monday nights"
That is NOT a missed connection. That was a one night stand you want to happen again. You already connected son. You even said you had a "great connection." The only thing you missed was asking the guy for his number so the next time you happened to be in Philly you could call him up for a little booty call.
